Yeka Fly Organics is a pioneering force in sustainable agriculture — empowering poultry, pig, and fish farmers across Uganda to cut feed costs and build real income using Black Soldier Fly Larvae.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple yet impactful: we help farmers raising poultry, pigs, and fish reduce their feed costs by turning organic waste into nutritious feed using Black Soldier Fly Larvae — enhancing livelihoods and building a better future for farming communities.
BSFL replaced expensive commercial feed on our own farm first — then we showed other farmers how to do the same.
Both online and in-person, with 31 BSF units installed across Uganda and running profitably.
A vibrant farming community supported through one-on-one engagements, WhatsApp support groups, and social media channels.
Our Story
While starting a poultry business, we faced a familiar challenge: feed costs were crippling. Searching for alternatives, we discovered Black Soldier Fly Larvae — and it cut our feed expenses by 42%.
That success inspired us to share the knowledge. We began training other farmers — both online and in person — from our base in Mukono – Kalagi, just 39 km from Kampala.
We've trained over 200 farmers and installed 31 BSF units across Uganda — with outputs ranging from 50 kg to 1,000 kg of larvae weekly.
Today we support a growing community of farmers sharing knowledge, finding buyers, and growing together across Uganda and beyond — backed by WhatsApp groups and social media channels.
Our Values
These principles guide every training, every product, and every farmer we work with.
We are committed to transparency and integrity in everything we teach and every product we offer. We only recommend what truly works.
Every solution starts with the farmer's reality. Accessible, low-cost, and practical — designed for farmers raising poultry, pigs, fish, or starting from scratch.
We take care of the environment, the community, and the trust you place in us — guided by a commitment to circular, zero-waste agriculture.
We don't disappear after training. One-on-one engagements, WhatsApp support groups, and social media channels keep you supported every step of the way.

FAQ
Black Soldier Fly (BSF) farming is the practice of rearing Hermetia illucens larvae on organic waste. The larvae rapidly convert food scraps, animal manure, and agricultural by-products into high-protein animal feed and organic fertiliser. It is fast, low-cost, and sustainable.
You can start a small BSF unit from as little as UGX 100,000 with basic materials. Our Starter Pack at UGX 149,000 includes everything you need — a love cage, eggies, pupae, and eggs — to launch your first colony with proper guidance.
BSF larvae (prepupae) contain 40–44% crude protein on a dry matter basis, along with significant healthy fats and calcium. This makes them an excellent partial or full replacement for expensive commercial protein feeds like fishmeal and soybean meal.
BSF larvae can replace 30–60% of commercial feed for poultry, fish, and pigs. Farmers we've trained have reduced their feed costs by up to 43%. For best results, larvae are used as a supplement alongside a basic diet, reducing the most expensive protein component significantly.
The BSF cycle from egg to harvestable prepupae takes approximately 14 days under good feeding and temperature conditions. This rapid cycle means you can harvest fresh larvae every two weeks, maintaining a consistent supply of feed for your animals.
Yes. We offer beginner and advanced BSF training online and in person across Uganda, as well as our Starter Pack (UGX 149,000) which includes everything needed to launch your first colony. We also have digital guides and one-on-one advisory sessions available.
Yes. BSF thrive in Uganda's tropical climate year-round. Our farmers operate successfully across Wakiso, Mukono, Jinja, Mbarara, Luwero, Masaka and beyond. You can start with as little as a 2m × 2m space in your compound or backyard.
